Celebrating the Many Faces of NAR Leadership

We have the most caring, smart, and passionate leaders within the REALTOR® family and this week we had the opportunity to celebrate the incoming teams who will help to drive our industry forward. Our 2018 National Association of REALTOR® President, Elizabeth Mendenhall, sixth generation REALTOR® and only the sixth female president in over 100 years. It was a real treat to be a part of her very special evening where her father, Richard Mendenhall, 2001 NAR President, installed her into office. There was not a dry eye in the room when he presented her by stating “I give you my daughter.” As a third generation REALTOR® leader and woman in real estate, I will hold this evening very close to my heart!

I’m also very proud of my very good friend Colin Mullane from Ashland, Oregon who was installed as our 2018 Region 12 Vice President. Colin will serve as the liaison between the states of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Alaska, and Montana, and the NAR Executive Committee. I’ve had the opportunity to serve with Colin for many years, and I am incredibly grateful for his leadership and his friendship throughout the years.

Later in the week, we celebrated the outgoing and incoming leadership teams of the National Women’s Council of REALTORS®. This group is my home away from home, and I’ve had the honor of serving our membership for over 13 years. The council is an innovative business network where professional leaders are developed. We are a network of successful REALTORS®, advancing women as professionals and leaders in business, the industry, and the communities we serve. It is an exciting time in real estate, and this group continues to evolve to stay relevant and involved in the conversations of how business is done.

I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve with these amazing leaders and look forward to everyone’s leadership over the next few years.
